My graduation from National college of chiropractic in 1995 was marked with a serge of enthusiasm for the chiropractic profession. I started my practice straight out of school and it was fun and exciting. As time passed I saw my practice continue to grow and with this growth I found it increasingly difficult to be efficient.
When my motivation and energy level were at an all time low I attended practice management seminars. After attending a particular seminar I realized I had spent years studying to become a chiropractor and only a few weeks in office management.
I always found road blocks in efficiency, time and office procedures that prevented my practice from reaching the next level. How did I know my current office management system was meeting our office needs? I spent a year studying my office management program and systems and answered some critical questions. Here are a few of those questions: Did I have built-in systems to prevent my staff from losing track of patients? Did my current system make recalls and collections easy and fail safe? Was our program equipped with the necessary tools to help my staff work efficiently? Were my patients being educated about chiropractic every visit or were there holes in my system? Was my time being spent efficiently and which tools would help maximize my time?
Numerous experts in the field of computer programming and design have spent two years developing the blueprint that would become Atlas Chiropractic System. Not only is Atlas an elite program that every chiropractor can use but it's the most comprehensive software package available, while continuing to evolve.
Atlas helped mainstream my practice and reach my goals and has made practice easy and fun. Now I'm committing my professional career to help other chiropractors mainstream their offices and reach more chiropractic patients one at a time.

Ever since my early experiences with computers, my philosophy has been that they should make life easier for people - not make life more complicated. To my horror, once I started in the computing field I discovered there are too many systems that seem to be designed to make life more difficult. I resolved then that I would always develop applications that were easy to use - the real 'user friendly'.
I learned early in my career that if you want to design a user friendly solution, you must always involve the people who are going to use the system in the design of the system. By involving the users you develop a solution that does exactly what the users need - not what someone else, who does not even know what the users actually do, think they need.
It seems that my career has come full circle. Over 30 years ago I started in the health care field with a management company that owned a number of nursing homes across Ontario. Since those early days I have worked in many different fields - from mining to transportation and retail to communications with a side trip into education where I could share my experiences with the next generation of system developers.
Now I am back in the health care field. It is only fitting that it is in chiropractic - while sitting in my chiropractor's waiting room I overheard the CHA commenting how difficult it was to enter several future appointments into the program she was using. I could not help but suggest that I could create a system that would be easier to use. That was over two years ago. The end result of that offer to help is the Atlas Chiropractic System - designed by chiropractic health assistants and chiropractors to make their work easier.
